General
What time is check-in?
Check-in time is after 4pm.
What time is check-out?
Check-out time is 12pm.
Can I check-in early?
We cannot guarantee rooms before 4:00pm. Please visit the Front Desk upon arrival to store luggage and enjoy the property until your room is ready.
How much is the deposit?
A first night's room and tax deposit are required at time of booking. The deposit may be charged to MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover credit cards and will be processed when the card number is given.
What is the cancellation policy?
Reservations may be cancelled, or stays shortened, up to seven (7) days prior to arrival. Cancellations or shortened stays will be charged if made within seven (7) days of check-in.
How do I buy a gift card?
To purchase a gift card please visit our shop page.
Are meals included with my room reservation?
Rates are European Plan (no meals) and are single through quad occupancy when utilizing existing bedding. Rooms come with either king or two double beds.
Do you need reservations for the restaurants?
Yes. Advance reservations for dining are highly recommended. To make your reservation, simply visit our individual restaurant pages and reserve online, or contact our Dining and Activity Reservations Team at 855-421-4301.
How many rooms & suites does The Broadmoor have?
784 rooms including over 100 suites.
Are the rooms at The Broadmoor smoke-free?
Yes, all rooms at The Broadmoor are smoke-free. We have designated, outdoor smoking areas.
I forgot my toothbrush. Where can I find one?
Our Housekeeping Team will be more than happy to bring a toothbrush kit, or other basic toiletry, to your room.
Do I need tickets for the movie theatre?
The Little Theatre is complimentary and does not require reservations or tickets. It is available for overnight hotel guests and Golf Club members. Guests may bring their own concessions or purchase some from Café Julie near the Main Lobby.
Is there valet parking, and how much does it cost?
Overnight valet parking for hotel guests is $45 per night. Based upon availability, valet parking for those visiting our restaurants or shops is complimentary. Self-parking in the garage is $35 per night; day parking in garage is $5 per half hour (max $25 per day).
Can I bring my own food and drinks in with me?
For the safety and security of our guests, outside food and beverage is not permitted at the resort.
How much is it for a rollaway?
The rollaway charge is $50 per night. Limit one per room.
Where are the shops on property?
Most of the shops are in the Retail Courtyard between the Main Building and the South Building. Some are on the Lobby level, along both sides of the main driveway, with additional outlets in the Golf Club. Only The Broadmoor Shop is in the West Building.
Can I use a paddle boat during my stay?
One hour per day of paddle boat usage is included in the resort fee – they are on a first come, first served basis. Paddle boats are seasonal.
Is The Broadmoor pet friendly?
We understand that pets are an important part of the family, which is why we are happy to welcome your faithful companion to our main campus. Please view our full policy here.
Can I take my wedding pictures at The Broadmoor?
Wedding photography, whether professional or amateur, is not allowed unless you have booked a wedding through our wedding team. This policy applies to all aspects, including restaurant reservations, guest room bookings, and even just visiting the property. If you are a couple interested in using the hotel for any part of your wedding, you must coordinate and book your wedding no matter the size through our catering department. How do I book a spa reservation?
Reservations for the Spa & Salon are exclusively for registered overnight guests and Golf Club Members. For questions and spa reservations, select the spa option when you contact Dining and Activity Reservations at (855) 421-4301.
What is the altitude at The Broadmoor?
The Broadmoor is just over 6,200 ft. above sea level. Exercise may cause shortness of breath and exposure to the sun is intense. Sun protection is advised even in the winter; this is especially important for young children and infants. Increased intake of water is highly recommended.

Do I need tickets for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo?
Tickets must be purchased in advance from the zoo: click here. We provide complimentary shuttle service for hotel guests upon request.
Do I need tickets for the Pikes Peak Cog Railway?
We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Guests should anticipate a 4-hour excursion when travel to and from the Hotel is considered. The train ride lasts approximately 3 hours. Tickets may be purchased in advance by clicking here. Transportation is not included in the ticket price. Dining and Activities will be happy to make transportation arrangements and may be reached at 855-421-4301.
How is The Broadmoor practicing sustainability?
The Broadmoor is committed to environmentally conscious programs including recycling, water and energy conservation and eco-friendly practices.
Are there any tours of the Hotel?
Tours are offered for overnight hotel guests every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the Main Concierge Desk, starting at 10:30am. Reservations are required, and can be made in advance through Concierge. The tour lasts approximately an hour and depending on the guide, will go to multiple buildings and talk about the art and the history of the Hotel.
What can you tell me about the flower display in West?
The choice of roses is a nod to Mr. and Mrs. Penrose. There are approximately 575 roses in the bulb display in the West Lobby. Our preferred florist, Design Works, change the floral displays property wide weekly.
Where is the area with pictures of celebrities?
The Hall of Fame is in the West Building to the left of the lobby from the lake entrance, just before Play at The Broadmoor. Photos represent some of the most prominent, well-known faces who have visited our grand resort over the years. The pictures are changed out on occasion.
Which famous people have stayed there?
We’ve been honored to welcome many celebrities, presidents, and foreign dignitaries. These include Presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and George H.W. and George W. Bush, Princess Anne, Margaret Thatcher, John Wayne, Maurice Chevalier, Walt Disney, Charles Lindbergh, Clark Gable, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Jack Benny, Jackie Gleason, Sir Elton John, Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, Terry Bradshaw, Dorothy Hamill, Peggy Fleming, Michelle Kwan, Joe DiMaggio, and Aerosmith.
Can I arrange transportation to and from the airport?
Our partners at Gray Line offer Shuttle Transportation, as well as Private Sedans and SUVs, to/from the Colorado Springs Airport. Only Private Sedan and SUV service is available to and from the Denver International Airport. Reservations are required. Reserve Now.
How many pools do you have and where are they?
We have three swimming pools and three hot tubs on the property. The Golf Club/Spa pools and hot tubs are open year-round. The Lake Terrace Pool, cabanas, children’s slide pool, and hot tubs are open seasonally. Hours for each are subject to change.
Where is the bowling alley and do you need reservations?
PLAY is located in the West Building just past the Hall of Fame. Advance bowling reservations are required and are booked separately from dining reservations – although you are welcome to dine on the lane while you bowl.
How many employees does The Broadmoor have?
There are between 1200-2500 employees, depending on occupancy and the season.
Can I get something printed?
Certainly. We’d be happy to assist with printing your boarding pass or other document in the FedEx location in Main and West.
When did The Broadmoor open and who built it?
The Hotel opened June 29, 1918, and was built by Spencer Penrose and his wife, Julie.
Who owns the Hotel?
The Broadmoor is owned by an entertainment group from Denver, led by Philip Anschutz. We have only had three owners since 1918.
Are the artwork pieces around property originals?
The works on display are either originals in Philip Anschutz’s private collection or extremely high-end reproductions of an original work from the Anschutz Collection. We do not know which ones are which. If the original is not here on property, it may be viewed at the American Museum of Western Art at the Navarre in Denver.
How far is it around the lake?
The walkway around Cheyenne Lake is 2/3 of a mile.
Why is the letter A in the name Broadmoor raised?
Spencer Penrose was intent on the Hotel being called The Broadmoor, but there were older properties that incorporated the name. Spencer raised the A to distinguish his logo from the others and thereby avoid any trademark infringement.
Where do I catch the shuttle, how often does it run, and where does it go?
The shuttle can be summoned from any Bell Stand in the Main, South, or West Buildings. Guests are carried to and from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center, The Broadmoor World Arena, and The Broadmoor Seven Falls.
Are there any activities for kids at The Broadmoor?
There are countless activities for kids to enjoy, from playing in the pool, to exploring the playground, the bowling alley at PLAY, and more. You can learn more about childcare options and make an appointment by visiting www.broadmoornannies.com.
Where can I purchase a s’mores kit?
S’mores kits are available for purchase at Hotel Bar, Bar del Lago, and Café Julie’s.
Where can I store my luggage after checking out?
Our bell attendants will be happy to store your luggage until you are ready to depart.
Wilderness Experiences
Are children allowed at the Wilderness Properties?
Children are allowed at all properties; the only restriction is for Fly Fishing Camp where, because of the specialized nature of the property, children must be at least 7 years old.
Can I drive to the Wilderness Properties?
Broadmoor Wilderness Property shuttles will transport you to and from Emerald Valley Ranch and Cloud Camp, and guests drive themselves to Fly Fishing Camp.
Is there WI-FI and cell service?
WI-FI is available at Cloud Camp throughout The Lodge, guest rooms, and meeting space.
The Ranch at Emerald Valley and Fly Fishing Camp have very limited cell service and some WI-FI in the cabins and Lodge.
Are any of the Wilderness Properties pet-friendly?
Due to the wildlife at the properties and concern for personal pet’s safety, they are not allowed. The only exception is for service animals. Each Wilderness Property does have a camp dog, so if you miss your four-legged friend while away you may have one of them join you on your hikes or around property!
Are all the activities guided?
There are a range of activities to do either at your leisure or with a guide. The properties have Rangers or Ranch Hands who will assist the guided activities.
Can we do activities that The Broadmoor offers?
Yes, you have access to all activities that The Broadmoor offers, and we highly recommend taking advantage of them before or after your stay at one of our Wilderness Properties. If you would like to use them while already at a property you will need to take one of the scheduled shuttles down and back. Please ensure the property concierge is aware of activities so they may assist with scheduling.
Do we have to sign up for activities?
There are a range of activities that can be enjoyed at your leisure and that are scheduled for each day. A Wilderness Concierge Team Member will reach out prior to your visit regarding organizing any activities you would like to enjoy while visiting. For all activities, any necessary equipment will be provided at the property.
What are the temperatures and elevations of the properties?
Typically, the temperature is 10-15 degrees cooler than it is in Colorado Springs. The elevations of each property are: Cloud Camp – 9,100 feet, The Ranch at Emerald Valley – 8,200 feet, Fly Fishing Camp – 8,900 feet.
Because the weather can change throughout the day, we recommend packing layers. For a more detailed list of packing recommendations choose the Wilderness Property you are visiting: Cloud Camp, The Ranch at Emerald Valley, and Fly Fishing Camp.
If I am not staying, can I go up to enjoy the property or dine at a Wilderness Property?
Due to the nature of the property, they are reserved for exclusive use by overnight guests. For more information and to book a stay at one of the properties you can reach out to our reservations team at 1-855-634-7711.
What kind of food is served at the Wilderness Properties?
The menus are wide ranging and offer items such as eggs benedict, omelets, and yogurt parfaits for breakfast and steak, burgers, risotto, soups, salads, sandwiches and more for lunch and dinner. Please provide any dietary restrictions or allergies when making your reservation so that we can best accommodate your needs.
Is there a dress code for dinners?
There is no enforced dress code for dinner. Wear what is most comfortable for you.
Do we need to bring any gear for fly fishing?
All equipment will be provided by The Broadmoor’s Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Camp and you will not need to bring any of your own gear.
Can I fly fish before checking in or after checking out?
Yes, for an additional fee there is fishing available before checking in and after check out. Please speak with our reservations team for more information at 1-855-634-7711.
What kind of fish will I catch while Fly Fishing?
The Tarryall River has access to rainbow, brown, brookies, cutbow, and cutthroat trout, as well as the odd northern pike.
We are celebrating a special occasion while visiting. Is there anything extra that you can do?
We would love to help celebrate your special occasion. Please notify your camp concierge ahead of time so that we can properly prepare!
Dining
Is there a service charge added to my bill?
There will be a 20% service charge added in each of our dining outlet. A 10% service charge will be added for our bistro style cafes: Café Julie's and Natural Epicurean.
Do you have a dining dress code?
Yes. In keeping with our tradition of elegance since opening our doors in 1918, we appreciate you honoring the following dress requirements throughout the resort. Visit the website for the restaurant you’ll be enjoying to find which dress code they follow.
- Recreation Wear: Bermuda length shorts, pool wear with cover-up, proper athletic wear and athletic shoes; soft spike golf and/or tennis shoes are permitted.
- Casual Dress: Bermuda length shorts, dressy denim and collared shirts are suggested. No hats for gentlemen permitted at dinner.
- Resort Casual: Bermuda length shorts, dressy denim, slacks, collared shirts required. No hats for gentlemen permitted at brunch or dinner. Seasonal sport coat or blazer suggested.
How do I make a dining reservation?

Do I need reservations for Sunday brunch?
Yes, reservations are required for Sunday brunch. Reserve online or call 719-577-5771.
Can I bring a bottle of wine to dinner?
Unfortunately, this is not permitted as it would be in violation of Colorado State Liquor Laws. We have an extensive wine list and our team would be happy to make a recommendation for you.
Can I bring in my own cake?
For the safety and security of our guest, outside food and beverage is not permitted. Our chefs have thoughtfully prepared a selection of delicious desserts for you to choose from.
Are cell phones allowed in your restaurants?
Cell phone calls within the dining room are not permitted. As a courtesy to fellow patrons, please step outside when talking on your cell phone.
What are the hours of the restaurants?

Do you practice sustainable sourcing?
Our resort maintains its own greenhouses, private access to a cattle ranch, bakery, apiary, and chocolate kitchen to supply its restaurants with fresh, high-quality ingredients and products. We also use specialty ingredients from our network of local purveyors and global artisans.
- The Wagyu beef featured on our menus across the property is sourced exclusively from Eagles Nest Ranch in eastern Colorado.
- Many of the vegetables and herbs are grown by the chefs themselves at our own greenhouse and gardens, located on the resort's campus.
- This dedication to top-quality local sourcing is just one part of The Broadmoor difference.
Can I have breakfast in bed?
When you don't feel like venturing out, the fine foods of The Broadmoor come to you. Our exceptional culinary team has created a series of tempting regional menus and dishes for you to enjoy from the comfort of your room.

Spa
Can I visit the Spa if I’m not staying at The Broadmoor?
Reservations for the Spa & Salon are exclusively for registered overnight guests and Golf Club Members.
Where is the Spa?
The Spa is located on the 3rd floor of the Golf Club building, at the southeast corner of the resort.
When should I arrive to the Spa?
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment time to take full advantage of the spa facilities. Appointments begin promptly at the time scheduled. If you arrive late, the appointment is shortened to allow technicians to be on time for the next session.
Can I bring food with me to my appointment?
The Spa does not allow food on the third floor where massages and body services are performed. The Broadmoor offers a variety of dining options throughout the property for all guests to enjoy.
What amenities are offered at the Spa?
The Broadmoor Spa offers a steam room, sauna, oxygen room and lounge that are gender specific as well as the co-ed Mountain View Room and Terrace that overlooks The Broadmoor's golf courses. These amenities are complimentary with scheduled spa and salon services. Hotel guests who are unable to reserve a service may enjoy these luxurious areas for a fee (based on availability). The use of the fitness center, indoor pool and outdoor whirlpool is reserved for overnight hotel guests only.
Are children or teens allowed at the Spa?
The Spa and Fitness Center are adult areas and we respectfully request that guests do not bring their children to services. The Fitness Center is reserved for guests 18 years of age and older (16-17 year olds with adult supervision are welcome). The third floor of The Spa, which includes the locker and spa amenities area, is reserved for those 16 years of age and older. We offer services to guests under the age of 16 in our second floor salon (please see menu for offerings). Our Broadmoor Nannies will be happy to reserve babysitting as availability permits. Our Spa Team is not able to assist with on-site childcare.
Should I notify the Spa if I have an allergy or medical condition?
Please advise our staff of any special requests, sensitivities, allergies, if you are nursing, taking any medications or have a special medical condition. For certain medical conditions, we recommend that you check with your physician before visiting the Spa. Your therapist will review health information prior to beginning your service and if (s)he believes that the service is unsafe based on the provided information (s)he may recommend cancelling the service and booking an alternative or modifying to ensure your safety. As we are most interested in your safety and comfort, we reserve the right to refuse service to any guest at any time.
How do I cancel my Spa appointment?
We respectfully ask that you give a 24-hour notice if you must cancel any single appointment. 48-hour notice is requested for multiple services or a package appointment. Cancellations within this time frame will result in a 50% cancellation fee. All no-show appointments will be billed in full.
How do I change my Spa appointment?
If you must reschedule your appointment same day of service, a $45 change fee will be applied.
